Senior Accountant

This position will ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting information in compliance with US GAAP and by establishing/maintaining internal controls over financial transactions and financial reporting.



·       Prepare with appropriate support journal entries into the general ledger system

·       Complete data imports from source systems into general ledger system.

·       Complete reconciliations between source and GL systems and investigate variances.

·       Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations with proper support, investigate variances and provide Controller recommendations for adjustments when needed.

·       Produce accurate financial statements for the company and divisions and present their results

·       Prepare analytics and explanations for financial statement variances

·       Prepare ad hoc financial reporting and analysis for operational teams

·       Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

·       Prepare lead sheets and other schedules/analysis needed for audit process

·       Support month-end and year-end close process

·       Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

·       Provide input into department’s goal setting process

·       Assist with review of staff accountant work product.




1.     Success is measured by meeting deadlines on monthly closing calendar and daily tasks.

2.     Success is also measured by thoroughness and accuracy of work product.

3.     Senior Accountant must maintain effective working relationships with other Loyal Source employees and outside suppliers.

4.     Recognizing problems, offering solutions, informing management and making recommendations for improvement. This will be done through verbal and written communication as assigned.




EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BA/BS in related field, CPA preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:    Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and basic accounting procedures and principles


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:     Proven senior accounting experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in relevant work experience

  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Experience with creating financial statements

REASONING ABILITY:           Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.

TECHNOLOGICAL ABILITY:   Competent in the use of MS Word and Excel.
