As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will learn about managing cyber risks associated with people, processes, technology, and data. You will play a vital role in identifying and mitigating these risks, ensuring compliance, and protecting sensitive information. The role requires strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the completion of key cybersecurity tasks and ensuring the protection of sensitive data.
Salary: Starting at $85,000/year
Duties and Functions
- Investigate alerts, anomalies, errors, intrusions, and malware to determine the extent of security incidents and isolate responsible agents.
- Perform systems administration, maintenance, and computer security support for desktop environments.
- Recommend improvements to automated information system security policies.
- Conduct system, security, and operational testing/evaluation events.
- Identify and respond to intrusions and cyber incidents.
- Analyze log files using tools such as Microsoft, Remedy, Splunk, and other log resources (SIEM).
- Perform account management review for Azure Entra ID, Remote Access, Microsoft, and physical security.
- Implement and support information security and physical security systems.
- Analyze antivirus, intrusion detection, web filtering systems, and other Information Security activities.
- Conduct enterprise-wide security audits and forensic investigations.
- Manage day-to-day operational tasks related to ongoing threat operations support.
- Triage escalated security incidents and conduct response actions to detect, contain, and remediate identified threats.
- Oversee ticket queue triage, prioritization, and escalations.
- Analyze threat data from multiple sources to identify important security alerts and events for escalation.
- Provide root cause analysis for intrusions on Windows, Mac, and Linux hosts.
- Maintain detailed notes on all analysis activities in the case management tool to ensure process adherence.
- Actively hunt for potential threats within the organization’s network and systems, identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses before they can be exploited.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) or relevant coursework, OR
- 1 year experience or internships in related fields.
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) (preferred)
- CompTIA Security+
Preferred Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)
- Basic familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and tools.
- Experience or coursework related to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), log analysis, and scripting (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
