Loyal Source Government Services is looking for an Accounting Manager to work at the Headquarters in Orlando, FL.
Job Summary:
This position will provide mission critical, integrated, and operational support for the Accounting Department’s infrastructure essentials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage program accounting processes including: review of the monthly invoice, weekly processing of travel expense reimbursements and payments to sub-contractors.
- Oversee the completion of all program accounting processes ensuring timeliness and compliance with US GAAP and company policies and procedures
- Complete or review complex accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to ensure accurate accounting and financial planning
- Maintain internal control safeguards for revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Lead, direct, and review the work of direct reports
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Interview prospective employees and choose the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job. Trains and oversees employees as needed.
- Maintain records of all leases and long-term contracts and ensure compliance with all contract requirements
- Resolving any disputes/issues on invoices communicated from customers
- Provide leadership and training to the team and intervene in issues e.g. process / systems failures
- Develop and exhibit expert level of technical ability for all aspects of the role
- Take full responsibility for timeliness, completeness and accuracy and meeting metric goals
- Build close working relationships with project finance and contract management, including leading weekly status meetings.
- Review and improve processes to ensure a high level of customer service
- Strong focus on process improvement and ability to review and change processes to improve service levels
- Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
- Prepare metrics and variance explanations on contracts under purview
Requirements:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BA/BS in Accounting
EXPERIENCE: 10 years’ experience in accounting, management experience required
Qualifications:
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding, to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
TECHNOLOGICAL ABILITY: Competent in the use of MS Word and Excel. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics SL (or other relevant ERP system).
SKILLS/ABILITIES: A strong team player with superb interpersonal skills
Knowledge of accounts receivable/payable procedures
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
Strong attention to detail and goal oriented
Commitment to excellent customer service
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy is very critical in this role
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Strong organizational skills
Trustworthy and attention to confidentiality
