Accounting Specialist-Veterans Checks

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for an Accounting Specialist- Veteran Checks to work at the Corporate Office in Orlando, FL.

POSITION PURPOSE

This position will provide mission critical, integrated, operational support for the Accounting Department’s infrastructure essentials.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management, required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

5+ years experience in Accounting or Finance.

Medical or government contract accounting experience preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

A strong team player with superb interpersonal skills. Knowledge of cash, accounts receivable/payable procedures. Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals. Strong attention to detail and goal oriented. Commitment to excellent customer service. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. Strong Organizational Skills. Trustworthy and attention to confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

·      Calculate subcontractor payments according to subcontract terms and rates and ensure proper accounting and job costing.

·      Ensure all deadlines are met as part of the accounting close process.

·      Ensure timely payments to subcontractors.

·      Written and verbal customer service skills are essential for responding to inquiries from subcontractors, as well as internal departments.

·      Build close working relationships with subcontractors, as well as internal department members.

·      Review and improve processes to ensure a high level of customer service.

·      Attention to detail and accuracy is critical to this role.

·      Resolve any disputes and issues on invoices communicated from subcontractors.

·      Report performance metrics monthly to senior management.

·      Develop and exhibit expert level of technical ability for areas of responsibility.

·      Take full responsibility for timeliness, completeness and accuracy and meeting metric goals.

·      Review and improve processes to ensure a high level of customer service.

·      Strong focus on process improvement and ability to review and change processes to improve service levels.

·      Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records.

·      Prepare metrics and variance explanations on program variances.
