Loyal Source is looking for Licensed Practical Nurses for day and night shift employment opportunities at Sussex State Prison in Waverly, Virginia.
About the Role:
Licensed practical nurses performing duties ranging from entry level to first line supervision. Employees provide a variety of patient care activities such as administering medications, maintaining patient records, and assisting in the treatment and direct care of patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides fundamental physical and psychological nursing care to patients as part of the multidisciplinary team in accordance with the facilities mission, Virginia Department of Corrections Standards, physician, and patient expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a variety of patient care activities, such as administering medications, maintaining patient records, and assisting in the treatment and direct care of patients.
- Assist in direct patient care, applying principles and practices of practical nursing and pharmacology.
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following guidance and direction.
- May take venipuncture specimens, perform tasks requiring discretion and judgment as defined by licensure regulations.
- May supervise or provide work direction to nursing aides or direct service.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of prior LPN experience required.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Current LPN License.
- IV Certification within 90 days of employment.
Pay: Starting at $26.00 to $36.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
