Medical Laboratory Technologist

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 2 full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to provide services to VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at Dayton, Ohio.

Job Summary: Medical Laboratory Technologist must provide professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population. Located at Dayton VAMC Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service in Dayton, Ohio. Medical Laboratory Technologist are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals.

Pay Rate: $25.73/ hr

Duties:

• Performed laboratory testing on patient samples utilizing the appropriate instrumentation and supplies. Analyze test results, verify results, and report accurately in compliance with laboratory protocols. STAT tests must be completed within 60 minutes of receipt into the laboratory.
• Consult with healthcare providers regarding the interpretation and clinical relevance of laboratory findings, if necessary. Communicate all critical results directly to provider per laboratory policy.
• Maintain stock of reagents and supplies and manage inventory.
• Ensure the laboratory environment is safe, clean, and compliant with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and OSHA.
• Perform and document quality control and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment on assigned bench.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment or reagent malfunctions to ensure accuracy of results.
• Keep accurate records of procedures, results, quality control, equipment maintenance, and compliance audits.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) and applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Perform proficiency testing when assigned.

Qualifications:

• The contractor’s MLT employees shall have board certifications as required by VHA qualification standards for these positions.
• Must currently possess one of the appropriate certifications as an MLT granted by the following organizations: American Society of Clinical Pathology, ASCP, Board of Certification or ASCP, Board of Registry, American Medical Technologists or American Association of Bio analysts.
• Required to have a minimum of 24 months of experience.
• Must have an active BLS/AHA (preferred) certification

Additional Information:

• VA Pathology and Laboratory Service is a 24 hour, 7 days a week service.
• Monday – Friday: 0700 – 1530 or Monday – Friday 1500 – 2330
• MLT staff will not be scheduled to work on holidays. However, in the event of an emergent situation, a contract employee may be asked to work during a holiday; participation will be voluntary.
