Security System Designers are the primary technical resource for the our security sales team and install team members, and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process and integration efforts. Working in conjunction with the sales and install teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Security Systems Designer is the product specialist that must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions to meet the technical requirements and to ensure complete customer satisfaction of the system they purchase. The Security Systems Designer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales and installation cycle.

Responsibilities

• Design physical security systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers and technical requirements

• Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications of commonly used products

• Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users

• Provide design and specification development support to sales people, Installation team, management and customers

• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

• Listen, understand and convey customer requirements and convert into the design for working systems to meet their needs

• Perform technical/ product training for sales people, estimators and customers at targeted accounts

• Travel to project sites to assess and evaluate needs for system design

• Provide document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, etc.

• Creates and maintains documentation of all system design for communication to installation team

• Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts.

• Assist in researching and evaluating new technologies for both in-house applications and client’s security systems

Additional:

• Manage customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and

financial objectives

• Maintain professional business relationships with internal and external customers

• Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects via D-Tools

• Assist sales team in Identification of customer’s technical needs

Qualifications Required:

Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications

• Ability to work independently

• Must meet deadlines

• BA/BS in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar industry role

• Experience 3–5 Years in physical security system design

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Bluebeam or Auto CAD

• A solid understanding of network communications technology – Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, etc.

• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

• Available for Travel 10%, preferred.

• Customer Service or Sales Support experience
