Cable Technician

Loyal Source is looking for a Cable Technician for an employment opportunity in South Bend, Indiana.

Position Summary

As a Cable Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting security system installations through the management of low-voltage cabling and integration of equipment within a data center environment. Your responsibilities will ensure that all installations meet relevant safety and quality standards while providing support for seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cable Pulling and Management: Pull and route low-voltage cables, including CAT6, power, and video cables, ensuring organization, labeling, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
• System Integration: Collaborate with the installation team for the integration of security equipment with other systems within the data center.
• Installation Support: Assist in the physical installation of cameras, access control panels, alarm systems, and other devices, including mounting, connecting power and data cables, and initial power-ups.
• Conduit & Tray Work: Install and secure electrical conduit and cable trays to house and route cabling according to design specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Help identify and resolve issues with installations, cabling, or connectivity.
• Collaboration with Other Trades: Coordinate with electricians, network specialists, and other trades to streamline installation activities during construction.
• Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow safety regulations and procedures, ensuring safe handling of tools and electrical components.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate installation records, including cable routing, labeling, device installations, and system configurations.
• Quality Control: Ensure installations meet company and industry standards for quality and security by adhering to blueprints and project specifications.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling.
• Experience in new construction or data center environments.
• Comfortable working at heights and on lifts.
• Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and electrical work.
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including cable routing and termination for security systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components.

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Schedule: M-F 6:00AM-3:00PM
