Medical Support Assistant

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Medical Support Assistant (MSA) to provide staffing services to Sheridan VA Health Care System (VAMC) and Office of Community Care (OCC) located in Sheridan, WY. This is a notional opportunity.

Job Summary: Medical Support Assistant (MSA) to provide services on site to the Sheridan VA Health Care System (VAMC) and Office of Community Care at Sheridan Va Medical Center. Contractor personnel will have use of all required patient care equipment, supplies, and computer access for performing the services required by this contract.

Duties:

· Coordinates and authorizes Veteran care with community providers that the VA does not supply or cannot supply timely.

· Works with Lead Scheduler to achieve all patient communications are completed on time and appropriately.

· Works with Lead Scheduler and scheduling/reception team to ensure all schedulers/receptionists are competent and represent the VA in a positive, proactive demeanor.

· Communicates with internal medical providers on rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advises on appropriate processes

· Coordinates and authorizes Veteran care with community providers that the VA does not supply or cannot supply timely,

· Validates and update patient demographic information.

· Properly process community care consults via Health Share Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS) systems and/or other systems as needed

· Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services.

· Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre- and post- appointments contacts.

· Provide quality customer service for all patients; patient families; VA Staff, contractors, physicians, fellows, residents.

Qualifications:

· Required to have a High School education or GED.

· Type at least 50 WPM.

· A minimum of 6 months’ customer service experience.

· Basic computer skills & medical terminology knowledge.

· Will need a BLS – CPR (AHA) prior to starting in the position.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Between the hours of 7:00am- 6:00pm.

Pay: $19.14 + 4.93 H&W
