Telehealth Clinic Technician (TCT)

Loyal Source is looking for a Telehealth Clinic Technician for a notional employment opportunity in Kingston, New York.

About the Role:

The Telehealth Clinic Technician (TCT) plays a key role in supporting the delivery of virtual healthcare services to veterans at a Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). This position ensures the smooth operation of telehealth services by managing technology, coordinating clinic logistics, and facilitating communication between patients and remote providers. The TCT is essential in enhancing access to care and improving the quality of healthcare delivery through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of telehealth services offered by the clinic, including patient presentation, equipment setup and maintenance, and coordination of telehealth appointments.
• Support clinical services by gathering and transmitting telehealth images, sounds, and data to VA providers or reading centers within established timelines.
• Assist with in-person clinical observations and interactions as needed (e.g., hearing aid fittings, alcohol use detection).
• Provide patients with education on telehealth processes, including imaging procedures, timelines for results, and condition-specific handouts as directed by providers.
• Maintain accurate records for quality control and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with the Facility Telehealth Coordinator (FTC) to resolve process issues, manage equipment needs, and support data collection.
• Attend VA or Network Telehealth Team calls and provide requested data and updates.
• Ensure compliance with all VA policies and procedures related to telehealth service delivery.
• Required Qualifications:
• Experience in a healthcare or clinical support role, preferably involving telehealth or patient-facing technology.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and troubleshoot clinical technology and telehealth equipment.
• Proficiency in basic patient education and comfort with providing instruction on technology use.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams and maintain professionalism in patient interactions.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in a VA or government healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with VA telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems (e.g., CPRS/VistA).
• Background in audiology, imaging, or clinical data collection is a plus.
