Loyal Source is looking for a Physical Therapy Assistant for a notional employment opportunity at Moody Air Force Base, near Valdosta, Georgia. Note that this position is notional and contingent on the award of the contract.

In this role, the Physical Therapy Assistant will support the Medical Group’s Physical Therapy Clinic by providing professional medical and medical support services. You will work closely with physical therapists to carry out programs of corrective exercise and treatment for patients. Your contributions will enhance the clinic’s ability to deliver comprehensive care and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as directed by the physical therapist. Administer treatments such as exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, and traction.
- Instruct patients on segments of the program, including the proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, braces, prosthetic appliances, and devices.
- Administer traction to alleviate neck and back pain using intermittent and static traction equipment. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in learning and improving functional activities.
- Observe patients during treatments, compile and evaluate data on patient responses to treatments and progress, and report findings verbally or in writing to the physical therapist.
- Fit patients for, adjust, and train them in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Collaborate with physical therapy staff and other health team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have an Associate’s degree & have graduated from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Minimum of 1 year experience within the last two years as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
- Must have ARC or AHA BLS/ CPR prior to starting in the position.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0700-1800, 8.5-hour shift inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid meal break, not to exceed 40 hours per week.
