About the Role:Â
As the Infection Prevention Program Manager, you will lead infection control efforts within a federally managed facility serving individuals in U.S. government custody. In this secure, transitional clinical environment, you will design and implement infection prevention strategies, conduct surveillance and risk assessments, and ensure compliance with public health and regulatory standards. This role requires expertise in epidemiology, strong leadership, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both patients and staff.Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Design, implement, and oversee the infection prevention and control program in accordance with CDC, OSHA, and other applicable guidelinesÂ
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies tailored to the clinical environmentÂ
- Monitor infection trends and conduct surveillance to identify and respond to potential outbreaksÂ
- Develop and deliver training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff on IPC protocolsÂ
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to infection preventionÂ
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to integrate IPC practices into daily operationsÂ
- Lead audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives related to infection controlÂ
- Maintain documentation and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholdersÂ
Required Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)Â
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) strongly preferredÂ
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in infection prevention, preferably in a healthcare or public health settingÂ
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards, epidemiology, and regulatory requirementsÂ
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skillsÂ
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with diverse populationsÂ
Physical Requirements:Â
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking or jogging over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy patients or equipment.Â
Schedule:Â
This facility operates 24/7/365. This full-time position requires working days, evenings, as well as weekends and holidays. Specific hours will be determined by the facility needs. On-call availability is not required.Â
