Lead Security Technician

Loyal Source is looking for a Lead Technician for an employment opportunity at Little Creek Base, near Norfolk, Virginia.

About the Role:

The Lead Technician will be responsible for establishing and maintaining electronic security systems across various systems and customer programs. This role involves installing and maintaining security systems, fire alarm wiring, and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant codes. The position may occasionally require work off base on other projects, although the primary focus will be on base-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage electronic security components.
• Install required cabling, access control, surveillance, and alarm systems.
• Understand and analyze design documentation and system data to plan and execute installation and maintenance activities.
• Operate various programs including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), ACS (Access Control Systems), CCTV, Alarms, Fire/Life Safety Systems, etc.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant fire codes and standards.
• Stay updated on local and national fire codes (NFPA) and apply this knowledge to system installations and troubleshooting.
• Test and inspect fire systems to ensure they meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Complete high-quality device and component installation and maintenance activities.
• Participate in configuration of servers, workstations, panels, and other programmable components.
• Implement testing to verify high-quality installations.

Required Qualifications:

• Three (3) plus years of relevant work experience required.
• Experience working with Lenel Access Control, Avigilon Cameras/VMS, DMP Security Systems is highly preferred.
• Current DCJS registration a plus.
• Must have an active Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Must be legally entitled to work in the United States.
• May be required to provide a DMV record.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
