Service Technician – Security

Loyal Source is looking for a Service Technician – Security for an employment opportunity in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

About the Role:

The Service Technician will perform routine and emergency service calls, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and provide exceptional customer support. Operating with minimal supervision, this role may also involve training and supporting less experienced technicians. This position plays a key role in maintaining the quality and reliability of our technical services from Grand Rapids to Kalamazoo.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency service calls to troubleshoot, replace, and/or repair malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to less senior technicians or trainees.
• Deliver reliable, high-quality customer support and instruction on system operation and functionality.
• Conduct system testing and signal verification.
• Maintain truck stock/inventory (equipment and tools).
• Utilize technical resources, information, materials, and support for efficient task execution.
• Ensure the progress and completion of assigned tasks.
• Provide documentation of service and hours worked.
• Submit all required task-related activities, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Complete additional projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma/Vocational Training.
• Three (3) or more years of experience.
• Mastery knowledge in troubleshooting commercial intrusion systems, fire systems, CCTV, intercom, and access control systems.
• Working knowledge to full understanding of local/national codes.
• Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters, battery analyzers, and decibel meters.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to clear a drug screening.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, policies, and procedures.

Additional Qualifications: Banking experience: Locks, Vacuum Tube Systems, Alarms, Cameras, Safes, Time Clocks, Vault Inspections (a plus).

Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm

Pay: $30 per hour.
