Loyal Source is looking for a Security System Service Technician for an employment opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama.
About the Role:
The Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage panels, wiring, and devices for multi-family communities. This role may also involve some programming tasks. The technician will ensure reliable, high-quality customer support and will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of security systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Services, troubleshoots, and repairs security panels, wiring, and devices.
- Provides reliable, high-quality customer support.
- Provides customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
- Performs system testing and signal verification.
- Maintains the necessary stock/inventory (equipment and tools).
- Organizes and utilizes technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks.
- Ensures the progress and completion of assigned tasks.
- Provides documentation of service and hours worked.
- Completes and submits all required task-related activities, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be detail-oriented.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have 3 or more years of experience servicing security systems.
- Experience troubleshooting intrusion systems, CCTV, and access control systems within a residential and/or small business environment.
- Must have a working knowledge to full understanding of local/national codes.
- Must be able to read plans, use a variety of tools, and install panels, boxes, and wiring accordingly.
- Requires knowledge of OSHA and comprehension of national electronic code, state, and local construction codes.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to clear a drug and background screening.
Schedule: M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM
Benefits Offered: Medical, dental, vision, PTO, Car Allowance, and holidays.
Pay: $22 per hour.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders or scaffolding while performing installation and service work.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to reach overhead, work at heights, and perform tasks in confined or restricted spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and utility closets.
Requires good manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination to handle small tools, wiring, fasteners, and electronic components.
Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely for extended periods of time.
Must be able to sit, stand, or drive for extended periods, including travel between job sites.
Requires visual acuity for reading technical documents, schematics, and device indicators, as well as color differentiation for wiring and cabling.
Requires auditory ability to hear equipment alerts, alarms, and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work in varied environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings, exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions depending on job site.
