Job Description

Summary

The Workday Manager is the business and technology owner of the Workday platform. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, governance, operational performance, enhancement delivery, and ongoing support of the organization's Workday ecosystem. The Workday Manager ensures the platform remains stable, compliant, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives across Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, Time Tracking, Absence Management, and related functions.

This role operates across technology, operations, project delivery, and business partnership domains to maximize platform value while ensuring effective governance, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Pay: $145,000-$170,000

Duties and Functions

·      Own the overall Workday platform strategy, roadmap, and governance

·      Lead and manage the Workday administration, support, and delivery team

·      Serve as the primary liaison between Technology and business stakeholders including HR, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and Operations

·      Establish and manage prioritization processes for enhancements, defects, and projects

·      Oversee Workday configuration, security, business processes, and tenant management

·      Ensure platform stability, performance, availability, and service levels

·      Lead planning and execution of Workday biannual releases an

·      3d feature adoption

·      Provide oversight of Workday architecture, integrations, reporting, and data management

·      Manage relationships with Workday and third-party implementation partners

·      Lead vendor escalations, contract deliverables, and strategic partner engagement

·      Ensure adherence to change management, testing, and deployment standards

·      Support audit activities, compliance requirements, and security governance

·      Collaborate with TPMO and business leadership on project execution and prioritization

·      Monitor platform performance, support metrics, user satisfaction, and operational effectiveness

·      Develop and maintain platform documentation, standards, procedures, and governance artifacts

·      Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimization opportunities across the Workday ecosystem

Education and Experience

·      Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

·      7-10 years of Workday administration, implementation, or platform support experience

·      3-5 years of leadership or management experience

·      Experience supporting multiple Workday functional areas including HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, Compensation, and Absence Management

·      Experience leading enterprise software platforms and business-critical applications

·      Experience managing external vendors and implementation partners

·      Experience leading technology projects and cross-functional initiatives

·      Experience working with executive leadership and business stakeholders

Preferred Requirements

·      Workday Pro or equivalent certifications

·      Experience with Workday Payroll

·      Experience with Workday Prism Analytics

·      Experience with Workday Extend

·      Experience with enterprise integrations and middleware platforms

·      Experience supporting regulated or highly governed environments

·      Understanding of audit, compliance, security, and data governance requirements

·      Experience developing platform roadmaps and governance frameworks

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manages Workday analysts, administrators, consultants, and support personnel

Responsible for team performance, development, coaching, and career growth

Provides leadership, prioritization, and operational direction for Workday initiatives

Coordinates efforts across internal teams, business leaders, and external partners

Work Environment/Condition

An indoor office space with proper lighting and climate-controlled setting.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
