Travel Data Supervisor

Job Description

SUMMARY

This position will ensure the integrity and accuracy of travel, ensure maximum governmental travel reimbursements, and compliance with the FTR by establishing/maintaining internal controls over approval requests and guiding staff and management travel

Pay Rate: $55,000 / year

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

• Oversee Monthly Sector Pre-Approval document creation by PSS team

• Create Monthly HQ travel pre-approval Document

• Handle individual urgent travel, new travel and mileage requests by reviewing and submitting documentation for approval, sometimes on short timeframes.

• Track, confirm, and validate all known travel & statuses, escalating to management when needed.

• Maintain and submit field mileage reports.

• Review expense submissions by travelers to identify and correct inaccurate or missing approvals or documentation.

• Maintain real-time tracking of travel approvals and current spending.

• Manage approval processes and documentation on the high side.

• Support month-end invoicing and billability determinations to assist in minimizing amounts determined to be non-billable

• Develop and document business processes and travel policies as needed to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Work closely with HQ Program Managers and Program Support Specialists; National Deputy Director and Field Management to ensure only approved travel or mileage is authorized to proceed. 

• Assist with review of Program Support Specialist team product as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree

1-3 years of relevant work experience

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

BA/BS in business or related field preferred 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA)

Knowledge— Thorough knowledge of applicable CBP travel business processes

• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITION

An indoor office space with proper lighting and climate-controlled setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
