Medical Inventory Specialist
Job Description
Summary
Medical Inventory Specialist is responsible for the overall integrity and accuracy of the physical inventory of the company sites. Key functions include the planning, execution and reconciliation of full physical inventories and cycle count processes as well as control of inventory throughout the distribution process. This position will play a key role in managing relationships internally and externally to aid in the development of inventory strategies that will improve efficiency and reduce variances.
Duties and Functions
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of medical supplies and equipment.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Ensure that all medical supplies and equipment meet quality standards and are stored properly
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, including receipts, usage, and replenishment
- Coordinate delivery, staging, and retrieval of equipment and supplies. Coordinate freight, white-glove services, and vendor timelines to meet operational timelines.
- Obtain shipping labels and shipping products to designated sites
- Primary POC for warehouse(s) and additional inventory and package for shipment.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels and adjustments.
- Review inventory levels, participate in bi-weekly forecasting meetings and recommend reorder points.
- Process completed inspections of new product in the inventory control software or localized product.
- Conduct monthly shelf stock audit/count and reconciliation of all inventories. Conduct annual audits of all inventory items.
- Entering data into WD to keep track of inventory and orders.
- Identify and resolve inventory issues, such as discrepancies, shortages, or surplus.
- Using barcode scanners to track inventory and manage orders efficiently.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
Preferred Requirements
- (3+ years) as a Logistics Specialist
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)
Knowledge— Experience in medical inventory, supply chain management, or a related field is often preferred.
Skill— Expertise in managing inventory systems, including ordering, tracking, and replenishment of medical supplies.
· Proficiency in using inventory management WD, databases, and spreadsheets for data entry and analysis.
· Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper handling and usage.
· Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to meet deadlines and ensure timely supply distribution.
Ability—Ability to handle medical supplies and equipment with care.
· Enduring the physical demands of inventory work, which may include standing, lifting, and moving stock.
· Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
· Forecasting: Predicting inventory needs based on trends and historical data

Work Environment/Condition
- Temperature: Depending on the warehouse, temperatures can vary widely. Some warehouses are climate-controlled, while others may be very hot or cold.
- Noise Levels: Warehouses can be noisy due to machinery and activity. Hearing protection might be necessary in certain areas.
- Safety Measures: Adherence to safety protocols and measures is crucial to prevent accidents.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 25 and occasionally 50 lbs.
Standing and Walking long period of time
Pay Rate: $24/hr
