Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

As a Healthcare Data Analyst, you play a pivotal role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting vast healthcare datasets to generate actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will identify trends, drive process enhancements, and optimize overall healthcare operations performance. The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, validating, and synthesizing healthcare and patient‑level data from clinical and operational sources to produce accurate, timely reports that support customer oversight, compliance, and contract reporting requirements.

Pay Rate: $32.58/hr

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Job Responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, transform, and analyze healthcare and programmatic data from multiple sources to produce reliable datasets for analysis and reporting.

• Partner with program leadership and stakeholders to define data requirements, address known data challenges, and answer targeted questions—primarily using Salesforce data. Conduct exploratory and statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities that inform operational, programmatic, and strategic decision-making.

• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports that clearly communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Apply analytical models, automation, and predictive techniques to support forecasting, risk assessment, and scenario planning.

• Provide analytical expertise and actionable recommendations to support plans, programs, strategies, and policy decisions.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data analytics frameworks, tools, methodologies, and data quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative healthcare/medical field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline); Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in data analysis, data mining, or business intelligence, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment.

• Demonstrated experience working with clinical, operational, and patient-level healthcare data (e.g., encounters, diagnoses, medications, labs, referrals, outcomes).

• Proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and reporting using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Salesforce, EMRs/EHRs, and related reporting platforms, including work with both electronic and paper data sources.

• Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI, with the ability to translate complex healthcare data into clear, actionable insights for leadership, government partners, and auditors.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high attention to detail, data quality, and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and customer focus.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.

STRONG ORGANIZATIONAL AND PROCESS DISCIPLINE: Able to manage recurring reporting cycles, ad-hoc data requests, and tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.

ABILITY TO WORK WITH IMPERFECT OR INCOMPLETE DATA: Demonstrates sound judgment when reconciling gaps, inconsistencies, or transitions between systems (e.g., EMR changes, paper-to-electronic workflows).

TECHNOLOGICAL ABILITY: Competent in the use of MS Word, Excel, Salesforce, and PowerBI/visualization tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
