Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 10 full-time Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in Cleveland, OH

Job Summary: Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse must provide professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population. Located at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (LSCVAMC) in Cleveland, Ohio. Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent patient care.

Duties:

  •  Provide acute, sub-acute, and long-term rehabilitation services for patients with spinal cord injuries or related neurological disorders. These units offer interdisciplinary, patient centered care that addresses the complex medical, functional, and psychosocial needs of this population.
  • RNs working on Spinal Cord Injury inpatient units will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, bowel care, dressing changes, assistance with activities of daily living, interdisciplinary team coordination, monitoring, admissions, discharge, internal and external transfers, delegating assistive personnel, electronic medical records documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures.
  • The RN has a primary role in assisting patients with spinal cord injury/disorder, achieve and maintain optimum level of physical and psychosocial wellbeing.
  • The goal is to stabilize the patient’s condition and initiate rehabilitation to maximize functional independence and prepare for transition to long-term care or home.

Qualifications:

  • Required to have two years of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) experience within the last three years.
  • Graduated from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • A current license from the Ohio Board of Nursing or a current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) State.
  • Current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor
  • Required to have a current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Required to have basic typing and PC computer skills.

Additional Information:

  • VA operations are twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week (24/7), including holidays.
  • Shifts are primarily 12-hours, with some units offering 8-hour and 10-hour shifts.
  • RNs shall be available to work on days, nights, evenings, weekends, and Holidays.
