Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 4 full-time Phlebotomists to provide healthcare services to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) located in Fresno, CA

Pay: $23.16/hr

Job Summary:  Phlebotomists must provide professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population. Located at VACCHCS in Fresno, California. Phlebotomist are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals

Duties:

  • Phlebotomists must provide clinical laboratory services in support of VACCHCS providers.
  • Phlebotomist must provide direct and indirect patient care.
  • Phlebotomists are responsible for providing routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluids Services, including, but not limited to: Collecting, transporting, processing, and evaluating specimen suitability for testing, including receiving, delivering, and storing specimens for all lab sections.
  •  Phlebotomists shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards.
  • phlebotomist shall be responsible for accurately identifying patients, obtaining the proper specimens, recognizing and immediately reporting adverse patient reaction to venipuncture procedures.
  • Phlebotomist shall make every effort to prevent specimen mislabels, multiple venipuncture procedures on the same patient while providing care.

Qualifications:

  • Required to have a minimum of 6 months of direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Required to have a current, active certificate by the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
  • Required to be highly reliable in providing services and support that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
  • All contract phlebotomist personnel shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
  • Required to have basic typing and PC computer skills.
  • Must have an active BLS (AHA preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Hours of operations: VACCHCS Laboratory operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week; including Federal Holidays.
  • Required to work rotating 8-hour shifts, including morning, evening, and graveyard shifts, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
