Job Description
Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 40 full-time Medical Support Assistants to provide healthcare services at The Veterans Affairs (VA) South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) located in San Antonio, Texas.
Job Summary: Medical Support Assistant must provide professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population. Located at The South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) in San Antonio, Texas. Medical Support Assistant are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to individuals.
Pay Rate: $17.85
Duties:
- Consistently responds to internal and external customer requests for assistance in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and helpful manner.
- Screens/receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner. Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services.
- Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre- and post- appointments contacts as required.
- Daily computer use of Microsoft office products to include Excel, Word, Outlook & Microsoft Teams.
- Properly processes community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS) systems and/or other systems as needed.
- Validates patient demographic information.
- Communicates with internal medical providers on rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advises on appropriate processes.
- Medical Support Assistant shall perform quality customer service for all patients; patient families; VA Staff, contractors, physicians, fellows, residents.
Qualifications:
- Medical Support Assistant is required to have a minimum of 6 months of customer service experience.
- Required to be highly reliable in providing services and support that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
- Medical Support Assistant shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
- Required to have basic typing and PC computer skills. Ability to work independently to accomplish a wide variety of duties, including setting priorities, care coordination tasks, and organizing workflow
- Required to have a High School education or GED equivalent.
- Required to type at least 50 WPM. Ability to operate computerized programs and databases to enter, modify and retrieve sensitive information/data into or from electronic medical records, scheduling systems and/or reports. Excel most importantly.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge is required. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively, both orally and in writing, to meet program objectives.
- Ability to identify customer's concerns, perform the tasks required to resolve the issue accurately and timely, and follow-up as necessary to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
Additional Information:
- Hours of operations: Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm or 7:30am- 4:00pm excluding federal holidays.
- Fully remote & must reside within 50 miles of South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS).
