Security Technician III

Job Description

Loyal Source is seeking an expert‑level Security Technician III to support advanced electronic security system operations across multiple Washington, DC project sites. This senior‑level role requires deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to execute and oversee complex system installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and able to obtain a Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams to Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic security systems
  • Support access control systems, including card readers, reader modules, control panels, and electronic locks
  • Perform door monitoring, power supply, and basic CCTV system support
  • Configure hardware and software components
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and validation
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Access control and CCTV installation and service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Must have a Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Must have one of the following:
    • Military Electronics Training (720+ classroom hours)
    • Accredited Electronics Technician program
    • Electrical Apprenticeship program
    • OR an additional 3 years of electronics installation/maintenance experience
  • Experience Requirements:
    • 8+ years electronics installation/maintenance across multiple systems
    • 3+ years specifically in electronic security systems

Preferred / Advantageous Qualifications

  • General computer and networking knowledge
  • Experience with Software House / C-CURE preferred
  • Experience working in government, critical infrastructure, or secure environments preferred
  • Vendor Certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems:
    • Identiv/Hirsch Velocity
    • Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS
    • Aiphone Intercom Systems
    • FFT, DIVAR
    • Windows OS certifications
  • Additional experience installing or maintaining advanced security systems.

Physical & Cognitive Abilities

  • Lift 100 lbs once and 60 lbs for extended periods.
  • Relocate a 12‑ft stepladder independently.
  • Work at heights up to 60 ft using ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and catwalks.
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks: walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, overhead reaching.
  • Good (corrected acceptable) vision, color vision, hearing, and English communication.
  • Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems and form logical conclusions.
  • Ability to identify relationships among pieces of information.
  • Strong close‑range detail recognition.
  • Ability to understand spoken information clearly.

Work Schedule: Flexible schedule based on project needs (may include varying weekday schedules such as Monday–Friday, Tuesday–Friday, or Monday–Thursday, with potential for nights and weekends). Specific work hours will be determined based on the role for which the candidate is hired.

PAY: $36.78 + $4.80 H&W
